Entry Requirements

The minimum entry requirement for admission into the Department of Criminology and Security Studies is Five credit passes at SSCE (or its equivalent) in English, Government, and two other Arts or Social Science subject. For direct entry, Two A level credit passes in Arts and Social Science subjects. Credit passes in NCE, OND and Diploma in social work.

Programme Description

This program aims to equip you with a critical perspective on a wide variety of phenomena associated with crime, victimization, punishment, and criminal justice, with a focus on its causes and the various means by which society and social groups attempt to deal with it. The practical focus of the course is designed to enhance your job prospects. The Law element aims to provide you with an understanding of practical legal skills and knowledge, such as dispute resolution, written and oral advocacy, negotiation, and client interviewing and counseling, useful in most careers.
